DESPOP TUESDAYS!

One of the best things about running 13th Dimension is that if I’m not into something everyone else loves, chances are one of our regulars is.

Take G.I. Joe, for example. It’s not a property that’s ever really appealed to me. I was barely into the original action figures that debuted in the ’60s and I’d already aged out by the time the ’80s cartoon and toy line launched. Quirk of timing, I guess.

Not so with Des Taylor. Dude LOVES his G.I. Joe:

“I’m an original Marvel G.I. Joe fan, a massive collector of the original toy line and even named my daughter Scarlett,” sez Des. “Whilst everyone else was into Transformers, TMNT and He-Man, Action Force — as they called it in the UK — was my thing! When I learned there was a cartoon called G.I. Joe, I hunted those cassettes down and still have the original VHS and DVDs.”

Small wonder that the Joes have inspired Des’ art.
