Fresh off this bit of Batman ’66 news, we can tell you that the next Batman ’66 statue to come from Diamond Select will be Burt Ward’s Robin the Boy Wonder.
It makes sense, of course, but you never know how these things will play out until they do.
Now, the rub is that I can’t show you a picture because the photo embargo has not been lifted — the piece is awaiting final approvals — but the statue is on display at the Diamond booth. As hoped, it works as a complementary piece to the Batman statue.
To paraphrase Joe Pesci in Goodfellas: One superhero punches one way, and the other punches the other way:
Only it doesn’t look like this at all. But you get the gist.

Anyway, the statue looks pretty cool from what I saw of it. And, of course, once we can show you pix, we will.
Robin will be the fifth in the 12-inch line. We’ve gotten Batman, Batgirl and Catwoman. The Joker is next and will be out soon. (They retail in the $150 range.) Will we get characters like Riddler and the Penguin?
Bat-fingers crossed.
(More on Diamond’s Toy Fair offerings soon…)
