Holy secret lair! They’re almost here…

The collectible that appears destined to become the granddaddy of all Batman ’66 merch is almost here after about two years of prep work: Factory Entertainment’s high-end, insanely detailed 1:50-scale Batcave models are undergoing final inspections and will then start heading to these shores — and we’ve got an EXCLUSIVE look at the pretty sculptures all in a row:

“Our inspectors are currently hand-inspecting every piece of the 250-piece edition,” said Factory’s creative director, Barry Eldridge. “Each Batcave is being checked for detail, parts, finish and electronic function before it is packaged. Our inspectors are fellow collectors and so have a fastidious eye, but it’s a laborious task and takes some time, several weeks in fact. I think only Alfred has spent more time monitoring an atomic pile!”

Eldridge added that inspection is due to be completed just as the factory returns to work from Lunar New Year vacation this week in China.

“Once inspection is complete, and every piece has been approved, each piece will then be carefully packaged and prepared for shipment; this takes approximately two weeks. Then we will be able to confirm shipping details and will provide estimated arrival dates in our warehouse for onward shipping to the final owners. We understand that the wait can be somewhat frustrating, but we think you will agree it’s worth waiting that little extra time to ensure everything is correct.”

Can’t wait, citizens.
