Hey, cool!
Hey, isn’t it nice when something you really want comes earlier than expected? It’s such a rarity!
Anyway, Abram ComicArts’ Mighty Marvel Calendar Book: A Visual History, by our pal Chris Ryall, has been pushed up to a Nov. 12 release.
Woo-hoo!
The book’s release date has moved a couple times. It was originally supposed to come out in December 2024, then got moved to December 2025. So, yeah, the book was delayed — but now it’s by not as long! I’ll take that as a win.
Anyway, in case you’re just joining the party, the 272-page oversize hardcover is exactly as described: a visual history of all of Marvel’s calendars, from 1975 to 1981. The art by Marvel Bullpen stalwarts — such as John Romita, John Buscema, Jack Kirby, John Byrne, George Perez and many more — is phenomenal. And the calendar pages themselves are informative, often irreverently so.
The book lists for $50 and there’s a separate reprint of the 1975 Mighty Marvel Calendar that was released earlier this year. (The calendar lists for $19.99 and what’s groovy is that it lines up with 2025’s calendar.) For more info, click here.
Having seen both, they are worth every penny.
