THE BOOK REPORT: Taschen and DC bring you the Gold and Silver

Just like Ouroboros, I bring you a piece I wrote over at the New York Post today. And just like Ouroboros, the fine folks at Taschen and DC are bringing you some fancy new books based on their unbelievably massive 75th anniversary book from three years ago:

  1. I’ve gotten the first two volumes in this series, and they are phenomenal. It’s like having a comic book museum in your hands. I remember seeing the gigantic 75th anniversary book at the Strand for the longest time–looked great also, but where would I put it and how would I read it? A book like that is more a piece of furniture than a work of reference. These other volumes, while huge on their own, can at least be held in your lap. Can’t wait for the Bronze Age volume!

    • Same. I have the 75th book but it’s in a closet, which is pointless for a book. I have a reasonable amount of display space but it’s still a bear. Can’t part with it though. It’s so unique. But I like having the volumes because they’re really reader-friendly.
