Terrifying GENE COLAN DRACULA Painting Up For Auction

Perfect Halloween timing…

If there’s a comics master who captured the very essence of Dracula, it was the late, great Gene Colan. (And our pals Matt Wagner and Kelley Jones are no slouches either!)

Well, if you have deep pockets and a spooky disposition, you can bid on this original Colan painting, which was the basis of 1991’s Tomb of Dracula #4, from Marvel/Epic:

Here’s the description from Heritage Auctions: Gene Colan Tomb of Dracula #4 Cover Painting Original Art (Marvel/Epic, 1992). Gene Colan’s phenomenal painted cover exudes gothic flair, masterfully depicting the Immortal Prince’s sinister eyes lingering behind his demonic form for the Prestige Format limited series that reunited Colan with Marv Wolfman for a new tale. Acrylic on illustration board with an image area of 13″ x 20″. Signed by Colan in the image area. In Excellent condition.
