EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK — with Bizarro, classic Superman and a darker Batman…
McFarlane Toys on Tuesday will reveal Wave 9 of its Super Powers line, and the leader of the pack is an offbeat blast from the past — the Riddler.
Not just any Riddler, but a replica of the original Kenner Super Amigos figure that was only released in South America in the ’80s.
Dig the primary line-up, which will go up for pre-sale Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 12 p.m. ET:

Several thoughts:
— The Riddler is even a repaint of Green Lantern Hal Jordan, just like the original. (The leg color is a consistent color, though.) Some fans might have wanted a more accurate version of the Prince of Puzzlers but the originals fetch a pretty penny — a beat-up, loose one recently sold on eBay for about $200, while a high-end loosey went for $1,000. With the list price at $9.99 for each fig in the wave, that’s not only a bargain but a fun way to tip the mask to old-school fans.
— The wave has been rumored for a bit but seeing the final product is key. Huge credit for Bizarro being in his traditional Silver/Bronze Age colors. I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that’s a backward “S” underneath his tablet.
— A classic Superman! Finally! And while some fans may moan about another Batman repaint, this is a sharp color scheme.
— No word on chase figures but the buzz has been gold versions of Aquaman and Wonder Woman. We shall see. Also no word yet on the rumored Justice Society of America 3-pack of Starman, Green Lantern and Hourman. Stay tuned.

I rather have the Riddler based on the comic book version. Not a silly version.
