Yes, I’m reviewing a coloring book. And it is AWESOME!
Who says comics companies don’t understand fun anymore? What’s more fun than a book that collects the best of Marvel’s ’80s Secret Wars coloring and activity books?
THERE CAN BE NO MORE FUN THAN THAT!
Seriously, this is great. You get coloring pages, connect-the-dots, puzzles, all that cool rainy-day stuff you devoured when you were younger.
No Civil War here! See? They’re friends!
And stamps — reams of full-color Marvel character stickers and stamps (not the mailing kind).
And this thing is thick: Included are 160 pages culled from no less than six different ’80s Marvel playtime pubs.
And did I mention the posters? NO I DID NOT! There are posters!
Man, this is fun.
But I gotta ask: Why do these guys have to make poor Aunt May go through a maze to visit Peter at work? That’s cold, even for the Green Goblin.
The price is about $25. And yeah, that seems steep for this sort of thing. Until you get it in your hands and realize just what went into producing it. It’s a time machine to simpler times — which makes it worth every penny.

Great review. Marvel used my original unused Secret Wars Coloring books for this edition. If you look at the page that features the covers, you’ll notice a bit of distortion in a couple of the corners. I had adhered small stickers to the front of them I bought from Wal-Mart that I later removed. Still had the original posters and stickers inside. Bought them off the shelf as a kid and loved them so much I never wanted to mess them up. lol
