NECA Plans Mego-Style DC COMICS BEN COOPER Action Figures

NO TRICK! ALL TREAT! Five figures expected in the first wave!

Oh, boy we’ve been waiting for this: NECA at New York Comic Con has on display a wave of five Ben Cooper action figures — Batman, Batgirl, the Joker, Superman and Wonder Woman — based on classic DC Comics Halloween costumes.

Check out this pic making the rounds online Thursday:

Did you take this photo? Let me know!

The line follows NECA’s previous waves of classic Ben Cooper monster costumes, as well as its first foray into licensed properties, such as Alien.

But this wave has been buzzed about for awhile now and I’m glad to see that the rumors are true.

A few thoughts:

I still have the shirt!

— That Batman is like having a Young Dan action figure, though my Ben Cooper playsuit had the blue trunks.

— The price and release date are not yet clear, but figure between $20 and $25 each. I expect this will also be sold as a group.

— Dig that Super Friends pillow case!

— Too bad they won’t be out for this Halloween — but who cares? They’re coming! Will there be more? We’ll find out soon enough. Keep coming back to 13th Dimension for updates.

— This just adds credence to the notion that we need a line of Ben Cooper superhero costume T-shirts.

  2. I was hoping, and here they are! Love that they copied those particular DC boxes. My wife has a Wonder Woman costume like that in that box, and I still have my childhood cloth Ben Cooper Batman suit.

  4. That is so cool. I wore both the Superman and Batman costumes.
Would love to see a Spider-Man one as well as the other “Spider-Man” costume(The one Steve Miller wore the mask on the Joker album cover) That Halloween I could not find the “real” Spider-Man suit so I had to wear the other one . I remember being kinda confused and bummed because this wasn’t Spider-Man haha.
