A special 13 COVERS birthday celebration!

Kelley Jones was born July 23, 1962, and usually we celebrate our favorite artists and writers with a 13 COVERS salute. This time — as we did with Neal Adams (click here) — we turned the tables and asked Jones himself to pick his 13 favorite Batman covers. As in, the ones he created.

  1. I loved Kelley Jones’ layouts and design but could never get past the overwrought, excessive bat-ears, musculature, etc. Somewhat reminiscent of an exaggerated Bernie Wrightson. I think Jones was better suited to Swamp Thing than Batman. I great vision just one that was a bit too over the top for me.
