He has a movie coming out, you know…
In all the hoopla over Deadpool and Wolverine and the annoucement that Robert Downey Jr.’s coming back the MCU as Doctor Doom (or at least some version of him), I forgot that Kraven the Hunter was coming out this December.
Good thing Marvel Comics is here to remind me! Come November, an acclaimed chapter of Kraven’s Last Hunt, by J.M. DeMatteis and Mike Zeck, will be released as a Facsimile Edition — 1987’s Web of Spider-Man #32.
Dig the solicitation info, which will be released officially by Marvel later in August:
WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #32 FACSIMILE EDITION

A few thoughts:
— This is one of three Facsimile Editions coming from Marvel in November. Click here to check out the other two, including another Spidey ish.
— The streak is broken! All year, Marvel has been reprinting Secret Wars and the first year of Spider-Man’s “black-suit saga.” But with the exception of Godzilla #1, all other Facsimile Editions have been mutant-related.
— Obligatory Price Comparison: An unslabbed, NM copy of an original Web of Spider-Man #32 recently sold on eBay for about $75.

I wonder if they will release the other 5 parts of this great story as facsimiles? They were originally 6 issues released in Web of Spider Man 31, 32, Amazing Spider Man 293,294, and Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider Man 131,132.

Great comic. I have zero interest in the movie though. Sony’s Spider-Man movies without Spider-Man do not appeal to me at all, and the success of the Venom movies completely mystifies me, but so does the popularity of the character.

No interest at all for me here. Now give me any issue out of the first 100 issues of Spider-Man’s run and I’ll buy my standard 4-5 copies each.
