EXCLUSIVE: 13 BRILLIANT PAGES featuring Mutants, Moon Knights and Assassins…
Most of IDW’s Artist’s and Artifact Editions are notable for lifting the veil on a specific project or taking you to a particular point in time in a creator’s career.
But the latest — Bill Sienkiewicz’s Mutants and Moon Knights… and Assassins… Artifact Edition – takes a different tack: In this hardcover, due 10/24, readers can view up close the artist’s evolution across three of his best-known projects in the 1980s — Moon Knight, New Mutants and Elektra: Assassin, plus an assortment of bonus illustrations.
You see the early Neal Adams influences in Moon Knight, the ground-breaking stylistic developments in New Mutants and the kinetic, painted imagery of Elektra. It’s dazzling work presented as only these editions can.
If you’re late to class, Artist’s and Artifact Editions feature incredibly detailed, high-res scans of original, full-size comic-book art – though in this case, some of the pages had to be reduced to fit the book’s 12″ x 17″ dimensions. Artist’s Editions typically feature entire issues, while Artifact Editions usually include a broader selection.
For example, check out the Sienkiewicz edition’s table of contents:
So here’s your EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW, spotlighting 13 different pages. This time around, the pages were selected by project editor Scott Dunbier himself.
It’s worth noting, as always, that these just scratch the surface. We haven’t even included any of the spectacular two-page spreads because the web format just doesn’t do them justice.
Either way, here’s a remarkable glimpse at an artist flowering into full bloom:

I think it may be pre-sold out most places. Can anybody recommend an online retailer that still has copies to sell?
