Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…
—
Scott Tipton, columnist, 13th Dimension
Hellhunters #1, Marvel. You’re telling me there was a Ghost Rider in 1944 who fought Nazis? You have my attention…
—
Metamorpho, the Element Man #1, DC. Metamorpho’s back and I’m here for it.
Dan adds: Me too.
—
West Coast Avengers #2, Marvel. High hopes for this series, as a longtime WCA fan.
—
X-Men Epic Collection Vol. 10: God Loves Man Kills, Marvel. Some of Claremont’s best work here, such as the first Wolverine miniseries and God Loves, Man Kills, arguably the best single X-Men story of all.

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension
Batman: The Long Halloween — The Last Halloween #4, DC. I think the “official” new comics day is Thursday this week, but check with your shop. Anyway: Solid read so far, but I have to admit at this stage it’s been more interesting for the various approaches the different artists take. So far, they honor Tim Sale’s vision but they don’t copy him, which is a delicate balance. Looking forward to seeing what Cliff Chiang — one of my favorites — brings. (By the way, the series is skipping January and will be back in February.)
—
Justice League Unlimited #2, DC. I liked the opener but I need to see more before I commit. Not a knock on the creative team, of course, but it takes a lot for an ongoing to catch me.
—
Superman #21, DC. Have you seen Dave Johnson’s faux-ad variants? They’re a hoot!
Plus, dig Chris Samnee’s variant covering Superman’s eclectic history:
—
Exceptional X-Men #4, Marvel. I would like Kitty’s shirt from this Marguerite Sauvage variant.
