Batman #237 Facsimile Edition, DC. This is absolutely one of my favorite Facsimile Edition choices to date, and I’ve been feverishly awaiting its release ever since we reported it was coming. Cover to cover, it’s brilliant, featuring not just comics’ greatest Halloween story ever, by Denny O’Neil, Neal Adams and Dick Giordano, but a historic Golden Age reprint — The Screaming House, from 1940’s Detective Comics #37, the final Batman story before Robin joined the fray.
So, for your $4.99, you get O’Neil, Adams, Giordano, Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson. Plus, input from Harlan Ellison and Bernie Wrightson, and in-story appearances by Gerry Conway, Alan Weiss and Tom Fagan. This is what Facsimile Editions are all about. I also can’t wait to see how that incredible cover by Adams will look in foil.
Plus, dig the eye-popping sketch cover, with some of the best Batman trade dress you’ll ever see. I’ve written a ton about this issue, including interviews with O’Neil and Adams, which you can find here. This is one of the highlights of the year.

Fantastic Four Epic Collection: The World’s Greatest Comic Magazine, Marvel. A new edition of FF Epic Collection Vol. 1. Essential reading as we head toward 2025, which will be a big year for Marvel’s First Family. (Boy, I can’t wait for the Facsimile Editions that are supposed to be coming.)

Space Ghost #6, Dynamite. Dig the Alex Toth model sheet variant cover.
—
The Simpsons Premium 5-Inch Radioactive Man Action Figure, Jakks Pacific. This one’s for Bill Morrison.
—
Action Comics #1070, DC. Action Comics goes weekly — again! — at least for awhile. It’s a Metropolis homecoming for writer Mark Waid.

Superman ’78: The Metal Curtain, DC. I love that there are comics set in the Christopher Reeve-a-verse.
—
Spider-Man by Michelinie & Larsen Omnibus, Marvel. I remember really digging this Spidey run by David Michelinie and Erik Larsen. A new printing.
—
Power Pack: Into the Storm, Marvel. Looking forward to this new tale from Power Pack’s creators, Louise Simonson and June Brigman.
