Earlier today, I posted a story that things did not look good for a second wave of 3.75-inch Batman ‘66 figures.
Rather than repeat myself, you can click here to read it. I left the door open but my reasoning was based on the line’s absence from Toy Fair and the company’s refusal to confirm that the line was continuing.
But get this: Funko senior designer Reis O’Brien has left a comment confirming that there will be a Wave 2 — and that it will be out this summer.
Details still to come, but that’s the latest.

Dan,
Any reason or info on why no figures were on display at the show?

There’s nothing I can tell you on that front, Mike.

Any update on this? Summer’s almost here and there has been no recent news of these figures. Funko needs to get a Wave 2 out so fans can have the rest of the core villains.

You probably get this a lot, Dan, but wondering if you’ve heard any rumblings about the Funko ’66 Wave 2 figures? Figured if anybody would know if there’s teases to come, it’d be you. Holding on to optimism we’ll still see something.

I know no more than you do!

heard on the batman 66 forums from people who talked to funko at sdcc that wave 2 was completely cancelled.

That’s supremely disappointing. I’ve been waiting for a comprehensive line of Batman figures from the show in this scale for decades. I’m glad I have what was offered (minus the Batmobile and Screen Test Batman) but I was hopeful it would carry on.
It’s a sad day in Gotham City.

Man, Funko really whiffed it by not releasing the Joker, Riddler and Penguin in Wave 1. I’m not even sure I want to keep the figures I have with this incomplete a collection. Poor form, Funko.

Honestly, I’m not surprised by the news. I’m far from happy about it but not surprised. As much as I love Batman ’66 the public in general seems to have moved on in terms of interest.
Heck, even a comic con exclusive or LE online exclusive set with Joker, Riddler, and Penguin would have been a nice conclusion to a one-series line.
Bad form indeed, Funko, for simply not saying ANYTHING about this.
