Y’know what I love about Yoe Comics’ Popeye Classic Comics?
That old-time comic feel. Sometimes you want reprints that are meticulously detailed. Other times, you want to grab something that makes you feel like you’ve reached into the past itself.
Popeye Classic Comics, which reprints Dell’s ’50s/’60s run by Bud Sagendorf, issue-by-issue, is a wonderful example of the latter. Like Yoe Comics/IDW’s other regular titles — Haunted Horror and, my personal favorite, Weird Love — this comic could only be made better if Craig Yoe and Clizia Gussoni included the original ads and published it in newsprint.
