A new Dan Parent story is headed your way — plus a classic by Dan DeCarlo…
I’ve said it before: No publisher does seasonally themed comics as organically as Archie Comics. It’s a Thing and they do it so well, adding a level of warm atmosphere to what are already comfort-food comics.
Well, Betty & Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #288 — out Oct. 28 — is right on the money with a fall-flavored collection of new and vintage stories. Not just that, the issue marks the return of Veronica’s cousin Harper.
Dig this EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW, including a SNEAK PEEK at the new lead story by Dan Parent, Bob Smith, Glenn Whitmore and Jack Morelli. And stick around for a complete old-school Dan DeCarlo romp.
The 192-pager runs $7.99. Dig this:

It’s frustrating that they have so many great secondary characters, but so few pages of new stories. Only 5 pages a month in every title x 10 issues a year x 4 ongoing digests — so 200 pages a year, best case scenario. Because of COVID-19, they skipped several months of new stories this year, so it’s only really a little over half that for the year 2020. There will never be enough pages to do justice to all the interesting supporting characters introduced in the last 25 years, and that’s kind of sad.
It’s nice to see Harper acknowledged as still existing, though.
