A SNEAK PEEK at Sub-Mariner: Marvels Snapshots #1…
Boy, Marvel is all about Marvels these days.
Let’s see: Last year, the House of Ideas reprinted Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross’ seminal 1994 miniseries with annotations and a new epilogue.
The came Marvels X, the new prequel to Ross, Jim Krueger and John Paul Leon’s alternate-reality epic Earth X.
And just this week came Marvel, a new anthology mini led by Ross and a gang of top creators, like Busiek, Steve Rude and (coming soon) Bill Sienkiewicz and Adam Hughes.
On March 11, the publisher continues along with Marvels Snapshots, a second anthology series, curated by Busiek, that features a range of writing and art teams.
First up? Sub-Mariner: Marvels Snapshots #1, a one-shot by Bronze Age stalwarts Alan Brennert and Jerry Ordway (colored by Espen Grundetjern), with a Ross cover. (Plus, check out Ordway’s variant — the best cover I’ve seen this year!)

Alex Ross and Jerry Ordway are great artists in their own right!
