Meanwhile, check out this photo and video gallery of the first detailed images of all five figures:
—
CLOCK KING
—
RED BATMAN (aka ITALIAN MOVIE POSTER BATMAN)
—
WONDER WOMAN
—
THE JOKER
—
BATGIRL
—
A few thoughts:
— The figures will list for $19.99 each and the Batgirl Cycle will list for $29.99. They are expected to be released by the end of the year.
— OK, so why is this the first time the Batman ’66 version of Clock King has been produced in any fashion? Simple: The folks at McFarlane Toys are clever. The villain was played by Walter Slezak but his likeness rights, like most of the actors who appeared on the show, are not available. So McFarlane took a page out of DC’s playbook and created a version based on the publisher’s Batman ’66 comic book. So while he resembles the actor, there’s enough of a difference to produce the figure. Same holds true for Wonder Woman and Batgirl.
— The Joker repaint is interesting: It’s kinda like Cesar Romero is wearing Joaquin Phoenix’s outfit. Batgirl’s repaint resembles Batman: The Animated Series.
— Finally! Two accessories we haven’t seen yet in this line — the Bat Shield and the Big Ben Distillery Total Dehydrator!
— Once again, a reminder of why there’s a Red Batman: He’s based on the Italian movie poster — and he’s even getting a DC Comics variant cover!

This wave looks terrific and the Clock King is a home run. The Wonder Woman figure looks great too. Fun line. Hope we get Mad Hatter next!! I know lots of collectors have been requesting him a lot.

With that face, Clock King looks more like Jack Lemmon’s Professor Fate from the movie The Great Race!

I kind of sort of wish they’d put WW in the costume from that terrible failed Dozier produced pilot. Oh, well…maybe a variant version .

“So while he resembles the actor, there’s enough of a difference to produce the figure. Same holds true for Wonder Woman and Batgirl.….” I don’t understand. The cycle shows a more show accurate portrayal of Batgirl. Why the change?
September 6, 2024
The Batgirl is all about the mask. It’s screen-accurate so it covers the fact the face beneath it is generic. That’s not Yvonne Craig’s face under there. Just a pretty woman who kinda looks like her. They walk a fine line.

I get ya. Yep. I was really more confused by the Batgirl depicted here vs how she looks as displayed on the cycle (see other article). That Batgirl has what I consider a more TV accurate look with the all purple uniform and yellow cape. This one reminds me more of the Filmation cartoons. As a collector, I’d rather see one in the all black as she was first seen in the comic.
And, I haven’t said it yet but, welcome back!

Thanks, Buck! Much appreciated! This is the third animated-style Batgirl they’ve done. The first is Filmation-style, the second is an all-black one, as you suggest, and now this one. The TV style one is in proper purple, as you know.

Why is Wonder Woman part of the Batman 66 line? Does it have to do w/ the failed pilot?
November 8, 2024
No, it’s because of the Batman ’66/Wonder Woman ’77 team-up comics series.
