The signs were there…
Last week, we reported that among the publisher’s whopping seven Facsimile Editions scheduled for January, DC planned on reprinting 2002’s Batman #608 and #609 — the first two chapters of Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee’s epic Hush.
What wasn’t immediately clear was whether the company was planning to publish the rest of the 12-part saga as Facsimiles, similar to its handling of Crisis on Infinite Earths and Batman: Year One. But then came the announcement during New York Comic Con that Hush 2 — by the same creative team of Loeb, Lee, Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair — is headed your way this spring, in the pages of the main Batman title.
With that, it seemed like a fait accompli, and now the word around the dark alleys of Gotham City is that, yes, the original Hush will be reprinted as a full skein of Facsimile Editions, with at least two issues a month to start 2025: Jan. 1 and 15 (as we reported), then two in February and two in March. Whether the run will maintain that cadence into April and beyond is not yet clear.

Batman #613
I haven’t read Hush in a long time and I’m looking forward to experiencing it again, in individual issues. Sure, I have the trade, but this is more fun.

Meh.

I can think of a hundred Silver & Bronze Age issues id rather see first. I’ll most likely pass on these.

Ditto. Hush is the most overrated Batman story of all time, followed by Batman RIP.

Well, I’ll get them. I’m enjoying the collectability of facsimiles and seeing the big two realize that consistent runs of a title make a better marketing tool is good. Although “Hush” really exists as 12 issues of Jim Lee redesigning the Bat-family; the story itself is pretty thin.
I imagine this won’t include either the Wizard #1/2 issue or the new epilogue from the 20th anniversary edition.
I am curious what other consistent year-long runs (or less) DC could do. The Judas Contract?
