BIGGER THAN A TREASURY: The new 11″ x 17″ format is gonna stick…
Ah-HA!
DC told retailers this week that, thanks to the big response to last month’s announcement that Batman #158 would be offered in a new 11″ x 17″ Giant-Size Special Edition format, every installment of the six-part Hush 2 — by Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee and co. — will be available in the massive size.
“These Giant-Size Editions follow the same final-order cutoff and release schedule as the standard size issues of Batman: H2SH,” the publisher said. “The next chapter, Batman #159, is on FOC on March 31, with an on-sale date of April 23.”
Well, we did say that if it sold, we’d get more. Not exactly genius-level thinking there, I know, but here we are. (Treasury Editions are about 10″ x 13″ by comparison, by the way.)
The main cover will be $14.99, with a $19.99 foil edition, the same prices as Batman #158, due next week, March 26.
Hush 2 will run for six issues, Batman #158 to #163, then come back after a break for another six, presumably on its own since the main Batman title is restarting in September with Matt Fraction and Jorge Jimenez.
The only questions now is what other DC issues will get this treatment?
(H/T to eagle-eyed 13th Dimension reader Gene Bartholomew for tipping us off!)
