The late, great Dave Stevens was born 68 years ago, on July 29, 1955. Everyone knows his Rocketeer work and most of his other art but there’s a little footnote to his career that a lot of fans may not be aware of: He designed the hero’s costume for the 1990 TV series The Flash, starring John Wesley Shipp.

  1. Kudos to the producers for using the more or less comics accurate version, not to mention recognizing that a man whose power is moving fast wouldn’t want a costume with a ton of drag or armored friction points.
