DC Adds a Fourth SUPER POWERS Variant Cover to Latest Wave

EXCLUSIVE: Kryptonite Nevermore!

Last year, DC’s run of eight Super Powers Collection variant covers was a smashing success. Since then, they’ve announced three more — all cleverly attached to Facsimile Editions.

Here’s the fourth — coming in April with the Superman #233 Facsimile:

On sale April 9, at $4.99. Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer absolutely nailed the Adams Superman face in his faux fig sculpt.

You can get the full rundown on the issue itself — featuring Neal Adams’ famed Man of Steel cover — over here. (And info on four other Facsimiles coming that month over here.)

You may not know it but a Mego-style action figure like this was actually produced by Figures Toy Company some years ago. Still, I’d love to see McFarlane Toys — which now produces the Super Powers line, introduced in 1984 by the late, lamented Kenner — put one of these out, along with the 11 other SP variants we’ve seen. (Though there has been a gold Superman).

Anyway, DC’s got a good thing going here, and I have to, ahem, figure it will continue.
