CORGI Announces 1966 BATBOAT Coming Back in 2025

They hinted at it — now it’s happening…

Well, Happy New Year to all of us!

The Corgi Model Club overnight sent out a message to collectors that, as teased in July 2024, the British company will indeed be re-releasing the 1966 Batboat in 2025:

An original

“In the wake of this last year’s Batmobile release we’d be remiss in not heeding demands for the Batboat, which we’ve long hinted we’d love to do,” the announcement reads. “We can finally announce that we have now secured the license and that the Batboat and trailer will be coming your way in 2025, tentatively scheduled for August.

“This will be the first edition with the ’tin fin’ and will come complete with the super-rare coupler that allows the trailer to be hitched to the (Corgi Model) Club’s matte and gloss Batmobiles!”

A few thoughts:

— The company made no mention of packaging, but they typically do the original (above). No price announcement, either. The gloss Batmobile sells for $49.99.

— You know as well as I do that this will sell like crazy. My guess is that we can expect the legendary Gift Set No. 3 to follow at some point. 13th Dimension reader and Batman collector Frank Bonilla keeps his ear to the ground about such things and is often correct. He’s heard this is coming but nothing has been confirmed.

  1. Ahhh. Memories of childhood, when I had both of these die-cast metal toys–the Batmobile and the Batboat. As I recall, my Batboat even came with a trailer to rest upon so the Batmobile could tow it—no idea what ever happened to them.
