It’s WILL EISNER WEEK! There are events all over the country, and new Spirit cartoonist Matt Wagner will be in Portland, Ore. on 3/6.
WILL EISNER WEEK runs March 1-7 and is designed by the Eisner people not only to shine a spotlight on one of the world’s greatest and most influential cartoonists, but also to promote comics as art.
This week at 13th Dimension, we’ve asked some of the industry’s foremost artists — including the likes of Mike Allred and Kevin Nowlan, to pick their favorite Eisner splash pages. Naturally, we started off with Wagner, the newly anointed Spirit guide.
Wagner will also be at Portland State University on 3/6 for a screening of a Will Eisner doc and discussion.

WHAT: Documentary Will Eisner: Portrait of a Sequential Artist followed by a brief intermission and a panel discussion of Eisner’s Legacy, with participants Matt Wagner, Douglas Wolk and Susan Kirtley, moderated by Brian Michael Bendis.
WHEN: Friday, March 6; documentary from noon to 1:45 p.m.; discussion at 2 p.m.
