CAPTAIN AMERICA: MARVEL Homages Classic STEVE ROGERS Covers — But Starring SAM WILSON

Tributes to artists like Byrne, Zeck, Kane and MORE…

Marvel in January will release a series of five variants that pay tribute to classic Silver and Bronze Age Captain America covers — but with Sam Wilson swapped in for Steve Rogers.

Makes sense, given Captain America: Brave New World is due on the big screen Feb. 14, 2025. There will also be a new comics series debuting in January — Sam Wilson: Captain America, co-written by Greg Pak and Evan Narcisse and drawn by Eder Messias.

  1. In an era where I find myself frequently disappointed with the art in modern comics (overly cartoony, poorly exaggerated features, or just weak storytelling), almost all of these covers look to me better than the originals. Kudos to the artists involved! (And not knocking the original artists, either; the re-creations are just good cover art, which is also something of a rarity these days.)
