BATMAN AND ROBIN: YEAR ONE — DC Announces ‘Noir’ Version of ISSUE #1

Adding more bang to the series we can’t wait for…

I’ll keep this quick. We’ve been slamming the drum for Mark Waid and Chris Samnee’s Batman and Robin: Year One since before we even knew it was happening, and Issue #1 is finally coming Oct. 16.

You know all that.

But wait, there’s more! DC on Thursday revealed a “Noir Edition” of the debut issue — read: black and white — due out Nov. 20, the same day as the full-color Issue #2.

A few thoughts:

— What a great idea. We’ve seen black-and-white art from the ish and it looks damn good. Check it out here.

— It’s also fantastic because Chris Samnee has been doing #Batober for years now, posting online daily B&W Bat-illustrations. We highlight those every year and will again this year. Hell, #Batober is why we started hankering for a Samnee-drawn Bat-comic in the first place.

— The ish lists for $3.99. The final order cutoff is Oct. 28.
