Archie Comics returns to its Facsimile Edition program in June with not one, but two issues: 1961’s Archie’s Pal Jughead #78 and 2010’s Veronica #202, featuring the historic debut of Kevin Keller, the company’s first gay character.

A few thoughts:

— Archie introduced its Facsimile Edition line in 2024 but put it on pause for a spell. It returns in April with Cheryl Blossom’s first appearance. Archie’s Pal Jughead #78 was originally solicited for last October.

— Archie’s in-house Facsimile program differs from the publisher’s team-up with Macroverse, which includes high-end reprints of dozens of the publisher’s most essential Golden and Silver Age issues.

— Obligatory Price Comparison No. 1: The Kevin Keller issue was a big deal, as you’ll recall. An unslabbed, high-grade original Veronica #202 recently sold on eBay for about $20.

— Obligatory Price Comparison No. 2: An unslabbed, original Archie’s Pal Jughead #78 in fine condition went for about $19.
