HOPE YOU LIKE IT: The Art of DAKOTA ALEXANDER…

By DAKOTA ALEXANDER
Last week, I shared an imaginary cover I made for Captain America #115, so I wanted to follow up with one for one of my all-time favorite characters — Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!
First off, let me say that while Spidey may be my favorite, he is also one of the more challenging characters to draw. Not only does he require an extra level of attention to detail (all those webs!) but often his backgrounds need to be cityscapes. It just makes you appreciate all those great comics artists out there, past and present, who took the time to draw all those buildings!!
And in this piece you can see my attempts at the Manhattan skyline.
Here is my faux cover for The Amazing Spider-Man #97:

Of course, for reference, here is the real cover for 1971’s The Amazing Spider-Man #97 by Jazzy John Romita Sr.:

Hope you like it.
