EXCLUSIVE: Green Arrow goes broke and grows a conscience, but finds a friend in Black Canary, who’s moved to Earth-One…

May will be another big month for DC Facsimile Editions, with the publisher scheduling six first-rate issues. A number of them deserve their own headlines, and you can read about them here, here and here, or check out the links below.
Meanwhile, one of them is 1969’s landmark Justice League of America #75 — the issue that brought Black Canary to Earth-One, and took away Green Arrow’s money and had him grow a social conscience. (Oh, and Black Canary got her sonic scream, to boot!)
Dig the solicitation info, which will be officially released later Friday by DC:

JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #75 FACSIMILE EDITION
Written by DENNIS O’NEIL
Art by DICK DILLIN
Cover by CARMINE INFANTINO
Foil variant cover by CARMINE INFANTINO ($6.99 US)

When Green Arrow’s identity crisis inadvertently causes the League’s darker selves to take physical form and attack, the JLA requires all the help it can get. Luckily, prospective member Black Canary is on hand, having just emigrated from Earth-2—but will a new mysteriously acquired ultra-sonic power be a help or a hindrance to her?

Several thoughts:

— Great idea for a Facsimile Edition and a total surprise. This issue, released in September 1969, often escapes notice but it really is one of the key comics not just in JLA history, but as the Silver Age turned to Bronze.
— I mean, you could legit argue that this is a prologue to Denny O’Neil and Neal Adams’ groundbreaking Green Lantern #76, which came out five months later. Which begs the question: Is this a clue we may be finally getting that Green Lantern #76 Facsimile Edition? Because, y’know, HBO’s Lanterns is premiering in mid-2026? Hmmm.
— The top image is the one provided by DC. The bottom image is how the cover looked in print. Sometimes, DC slightly recolors its Facsimile Edition covers, so we’ll soon see if that’s the case here.
— Obligatory Price Comparison: An unslabbed, original copy in solid condition recently sold on eBay for $265.
— As I mentioned, there are five other DC Facsimiles coming in May. Links below!

There isn’t any facsimile I’d like to see more than Green Lantern #76. As a matter of fact , DC needs to go all out and give the facsimile treatment to the entire Adams/ O’Neil run of #76-87, and 89!
