Just for fun.
OK, so Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #1 comes out this week from DC, kicking off a 12-issue maxi-series sure to draw the attention of old-school Olsenphiles given the Steve Lieber cover above.
Now, normally, this would have me pulling together 13 COVERS showing off Jimmy’s insane adventures in the Silver Age — but I’ve done that fairly recently. (Click here. You’ll be glad you did.)
And just this month, I posted 13 COVERS spotlighting Lois Lane’s wacky hijinks since the DC Universe’s best reporter now has her own 12-issue run under way, too. (Click here for those. You’ll thank me.)
What to do then? How about Superman Family? That, of course, was the Bronze Age title that resulted from the merger of Jimmy, Lois and Supergirl’s own mags — and picked up the numbering from the original Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen, with Issue #164.
We’ve never done a Superman Family gallery before, so it’s Super-kismet!
Right on.

What an incredibly super way to honor the original “Superman Family” series of comics.

Great memories! I owned issues #173, #181 & #182. I love #182’s cover! Curt Swan’s Superman looks handsome, modern and full of life!

SUPERMAN FAMILY #211 holds a special place in my heart as it features the wedding of the Earth-2 Bruce Wayne to Selina Kyle.

Does anyone know who drew the side image of Lois used on several of the covers, the one where she has on the very 70s hot pants and the yellow top?
