Because nobody’s done it better…
I’m almost always disappointed by James Bond comics because they tend to eschew the bombastic nature of what we typically think of as a classic 007 flick. (I know, I know, they’re usually based on the Ian Fleming novel Bond, but the heart wants what the heart wants.)
Anyway, that wasn’t the case with Doug Moench and Paul Gulacy’s 1992 three-part miniseries James Bond 007: Serpent’s Tooth, which borrowed many of the Eon Productions tropes we’ve come to know and love — including a superb “opening titles” sequence.
Gulacy turns 70 — he was born Aug. 14, 1953 — so dig these 13 PAGES from the first of the three issues (including the front and back covers).
Very good, Mr. Gulacy…
