A BIRTHDAY SALUTE: The late, trailblazing artist was born 92 years ago…
The late Tony DeZuniga paved the way for the wave of Filipino artists who joined the American comics scene in the 1970s.
He was best known for co-creating Black Orchid and Jonah Hex at DC, but I’m of the mind that the latter is the more compelling character.
We’ve done 13 Hex covers in the past to celebrate DeZuniga’s birthday — he was born Nov. 8, 1932 — so this year we’re broadening the scope to other Old West (and Old West-ish) characters he worked on during his Bronze Age heyday.
So, dig these 13 COVERS from both DC and Marvel.
Right on.

Can’t believe I used to be even the least bit critical when he inked Buscema. His stuff was so good.
