13 COVERS: The MARVEL WORLD of JERRY ORDWAY

A BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE…

Some artists are linked in the public mind with specific publishers. Jerry Ordway is one of those, given his decades-long relationship with DC and his work on so many of the company’s most beloved characters.

But Ordway — born 68 years ago, on November 28, 1957 — also spent some time over at the House of Ideas, mostly around the turn of the millennium.

So, for a complete change of pace, dig this 13 COVERS birthday salute spotlighting the Marvel World of Jerry Ordway.

Sweet.

  1. Let me be the first to post a Happy birthday message to my favourite artist Jerry Ordway. I love everything Jerry produces and appreciate 13th dimension shining a light on his beautiful Marvel work. I was especially captivated by the recent Captain America book, and as I was reading it, the thought came to mind that Jerry and Roy Thomas should do a crossover between the Justice Society of America and the Invaders set in World War 2. What a wonderful tale that would be.

  2. Jerry is a treasure and his work kept me looking at comics after I had pretty much stopped buying them during college and after. It was like seeing Neal Adams do characters for the first time when I was a reader and collector. I knew his work from fanzines and knew he’d end up working in comics.

It was great to get to work with him on ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN.
