In the late ’30s, Batman and Superman became sales titans on their own so it only went to follow that DC/National would start putting them in the same comic, even if they only shared the cover of World’s Finest for many years.

Anyway, y’know how people say Superman is a dick? Well, Batman’s right there with him. I mean, look at how they treat Robin! And people talk about the silliness of the Silver Age all the time, but there was some serious oddball behavior in the Golden Age too …

(My standard caveat: This is a subjective list and not a ranking of any kind. This is pretty much what I dig and you may feel very differently. So, rather than beef about a cover you don’t see, instead join in the fun and share your own choices in the comments section or in whatever social-media thread you saw this.)
