Iron Mike turns 77…
The great Mike Grell — born Sept. 13, 1947 — turns 77!
It’s been a few years since we’ve done a 13 COVERS salute featuring his Green Arrow, so we’re heading back to Star City (or Seattle, if you prefer) for a celebration culled from his Rebirth era variants.
Because these have the same classic feel as Grell’s work going back to the Bronze Age.
Right on.

Wow…. I don’t recognize any of these covers. They certainly call back to his work in the ‘70s (somewhat). In fairness to Mr Grell, I had totally checked out on DC by the time of this era. I am however anxiously awaiting the release of his recent Kickstarter project. I also hope his health has improved (he was sick recently it was reported). Happy birthday, Mike! Thanks for the great memories and storytelling.

Funny, I always assumed Star City was supposed to be a stand in for Los Angeles (“stars” = celebrities). In any event, these are a fantastic collection of covers!
