Where some artists would be lucky to claim one series as their definitive work, Mike Grell can claim several: Warlord, Jon Sable and Legion among them.
I’m throwing my lot in with Green Arrow. Denny O’Neil and Neal Adams rescued Oliver Queen from the dustbin of has-beens and never-weres, but it was Grell who made him commercially viable. Need proof? Watch Arrow. Grell’s DNA is infused into that show.
Mike Grell is 68. Our 13 COVERS salute is dedicated to his work on the Emerald Archer.
(In case you’re just joining us, the usual caveat applies: This is a subjective list and not a ranking of any kind. This is pretty much what I dig and you may feel very differently. So, rather than beef about a cover you don’t see, instead join in the fun and share your own choices in the comments section or in whatever social-media thread you saw this.)

That “Green Arrow/Green Lantern” cover interests me because GA doesn’t have a beard.
