The late comics stalwart was born 107 years ago, on Oct. 14, 1916…
Bob Oksner had a pretty groovy career, illustrating a whole bunch of DC’s humor mags, like The Adventures of Jerry Lewis, The Adventures of Bob Hope, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, and whatnot. He also did his share of superhero comics, perhaps most notably on Supergirl in the Bronze Age. Some consider him, in fact, to be Kara’s quintessential artist.
But let’s not forget that during the same early ’70s period, he spent a lot of time in Metropolis with Lois Lane.
So dig these 13 COVERS by one of comics’ most popular artists. (Don’t ask me why there were so many bondage covers. Musta been something in the water at DC HQ.)
Far out.

Oskner, along with Anderson, were the only two people who could properly ink Swan.

Oskner is so good. He also did a great job inking Keith Giffen on the 2 Ambush Bug mini series from the 80s.

Wow, what great covers! How have I overlooked Oksner’s work on Lois Lane all these years? Yes, we need a collected edition of these issues!
