Barry Windsor-Smith is not prolific where mainstream comics are concerned but his following is devout. Most of us immediately associate him with Conan the Barbarian — and with good reason: His ’70s run with Roy Thomas is one of the high points of the Bronze Age.
But, y’know what? We’re ignoring Conan for this year’s 13 COVERS salute. Why? Don’t wanna be repetitive. (You can click here to check out a previous 13 COVERS celebration focusing on Conan.)
Instead, we’re casting a wide net across Windsor-Smith’s Marvel output from the ’60s to the ’90s. It’s remarkable to see his style change.
Dig it.
