13 CLASSIC COVERS That Show Why VERONICA LODGE Is the Coolest

The Archie Authentic Editions campaign is in its final week…

One of the grooviest Kickstarters we’ve seen in some time is in the final stretch — the Archie Authentic Editions campaign that aims to reproduce some of the most beloved comics of the Golden and Silver Ages with the utmost attention to accuracy, from the ads, to the colors, to a book’s dimensions.

You can get the lowdown here — and you can check out the Kickstarter here — but to help gear you up, we’ve got a three-day special for you: 13 CLASSIC BETTY COVERS (which ran Thursday), 13 CLASSIC VERONICA COVERS and 13 CLASSIC BETTY VS. VERONICA COVERS.

That’s because Riverdale’s two most interesting characters are the subject of a poll of sorts in the Kickstarter (you can pledge for special Blonde or Brunette packages of the Authentic Editions, which take the Facsimile Edition concept and kick it up about five notches).

We’re led off with Betty because she’s my favorite. (I make the rules!) But Veronica’s got her strong points too.

So, here are Adam Fortier and Eben Matthews of Macroverse, the company that’s partnered with Archie to produce these lovely editions. (My hope is that this is so successful, Marvel and DC get on board, too. Because this is as much about comics history in general, as it is about Archie specifically.)

When it comes to glamour, sophistication, and a touch of mischief, few comic characters can rival Veronica Lodge. As the quintessential heiress with an unshakable confidence and undeniable allure, Veronica has captivated readers for generations. Her bold personality and eye-catching style have made her a standout on countless covers, cementing her place as an icon in comics history. Here, we’ve curated 13 of her most iconic covers from the Golden Age — moments that perfectly showcase her charm, wit, and flair.

Veronica made her debut in Pep Comics #26, quickly becoming one of Archie Comics’ most enduring characters. Her ability to command attention with her elegance and sharp tongue helped define the dynamic of Riverdale. Each of these covers highlights Veronica’s individuality and her captivating presence, whether she’s dazzling Archie or confidently stealing the spotlight.

These issues are more than nostalgic; they’re part of our commitment to preserving comics history through our ongoing partnership with Archie Comics and the first of many Authentic Editions collections. Authentic Editions stand out for their meticulous attention to detail, period-accurate paper stock, and faithful reproduction of the original art and colors. While not all of these covers are featured in the current Kickstarter campaign, we are committed to bringing all of these classic issues to collectors in the Authentic Editions format, with additional releases planned throughout this year and beyond.

This campaign is the first step in an exciting journey for Veronica fans. Whether you’ve admired her as a fashion icon, a romantic foil, or a fierce competitor, these iconic covers celebrate everything that makes Veronica Lodge unforgettable.

Back the campaign here to start your ultimate Archie collection! Backers will gain access to exclusive offers, promotions, and insider updates as we redefine what a facsimile can and should be. Let’s honor Veronica Lodge and her dazzling legacy together!
