HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

Batman #150 and Shazam! #13 Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez DC Style Guide Variants, DC. Let the countdown to August’s release of the 1982 DC Style Guide begin! DC’s got seven of these coming in July. (Oh, and order your Style Guide here!)

The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #7, DC. I’m not a huge Scarecrow fan. Great idea but I just think he’s overused. That said, doesn’t it seem like he should be the villain every month in Batman/Scooby? (Side note: Starting this week, DC is back on a Wednesday release schedule for its individual comics. Books will remain on a Tuesday schedule.)

Secret Wars #7 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. Hey, go check out Fred Van Lente’s latest COMIC BOOK DEATH MATCH: Secret Wars #7 vs. Crisis on Infinite Earths #7! Click here.

Scott Tipton, columnist, 13th Dimension

JSA: The Golden Age, DC. James Robinson and Paul Smith’s Elseworlds classic back in print in a new edition!

Absolute Power #1, DC. Excited to see Mark Waid writing the big DC summer crossover event, although I must confess to having a touch of Amanda Waller fatigue.

Marvel Masterworks: The Spectacular Spider-Man Vol. 7, Marvel. The original Spidey/Black Cat romance continues! From Bill Mantlo and Al Milgrom.

Author: Dan Greenfield

  2. I know I saw the Capt. Marvel/Shazam pics back in the 70s, maybe in one of those treasury editions. And the Scarcrow fits with Scooby and the gang—he does have a mask they can pull off!
