A Groovy JUSTICE LEAGUE Spin on a GEORGE PEREZ NEW TEEN TITANS Classic

A SUNDAY FUNNIES WITH KERRY CALLEN birthday salute to one of the greats…

The late, great George Perez was born 70 years ago, on June 9, 1954. One of his most famous covers is from 1980’s The New Teen Titans #2 — the first appearance of Deathstroke:

Well, our pal Kerry put his own spin on it — and while it’s not a typical SUNDAY FUNNIES gag, it is pretty feckin’ cool:

“I’ve loved George Perez’s work ever since I first saw it in the ’70s, with the Logan’s Run comic,” Kerry sez. “All of his work seemed simple, yet complex, and you could feel the enthusiasm he brought to every book. I enjoyed working on this commission, reimagining the cover art to Teen Titans #2 as a Justice League piece. Perez was one of the greats!”
