Upcoming DOCTOR STRANGE EPIC COLLECTION Features All-Star Lineup of Talent

Primo Bronze Age mysticism by Englehart, Wolfman, Starlin, Colan and Russell…

Boy, sometimes you have to just sit back and admire the sheer level of talent at work in the Bronze Age. Take the forthcoming Doctor Strange Epic Collection: Alone Against Eternity.

The softcover — due in early 2021, according to a listing on Amazon — features a mid-’70s journey through the mystic arts brought to you by mega-talents like Steve Englehart, Marv Wolfman, Jim Starlin, Gene Colan and P. Craig Russell.

Hell, even if you’re not a Doctor Strange fan, this has to be enticing.

Check out the official description, along with the cover that will be the basis of the edition’s front:

Doctor Strange Epic Collection: Alone Against Eternity

Steve Englehart and Gene Colan set before you a series of unmatched Doctor Strange classics! Dormammu and Umar attack, and Eternity declares that the end times are here. To save us all, Stephen Strange must confront – himself – or it’ll be the end of the world as we know it! Englehart concludes his run with a Dracula crossover, a trip to Hell and a time-travelling Occult History of America. Then, Marv Wolfman and Jim Starlin take the reins, pitting the good Doctor against Xander the Merciless and Clea gone mad! It’s a descent into the bizarre Quadriverse that ends with a reckoning, as Strange confronts his status as Sorcerer Supreme! All this, plus a beautifully illustrated Annual by co-writer/artist P. Craig Russell!

COLLECTING: VOL. 4: DOCTOR STRANGE (1974) 6-28, ANNUAL (1977) 1; TOMB OF DRACULA (1972) 44; GIANT-SIZE DOCTOR STRANGE (1975) 1 (COVER ONLY)

A couple thoughts:

β€” Standard caveat: The Amazon listing says the book is due Feb. 9, 2021 β€” but the edition has not been solicited yet and nothing is official until it’s official. I have no doubt the book is coming but that date is subject to change. (And if it holds firm, the volume will be in comics shops a week or two earlier.)

β€” The 488-page trade paperback lists for $39.99.
