Comics historian Arlen Schumer has another lecture coming — and this time it’s all about two men who were instrumental in bringing Superman to life in the mid-20th century, whether on the printed page or small screen.
The Deaths of Superman is set for the Triad Theater, 158 West 72nd St., New York, N.Y., on Saturday, June 29 at 3:00 p.m. (Click here for ticket info.)

“George Reeves, the Baby Boom generation’s TV Superman, and Curt Swan, its favorite Superman artist, died in the month of June,” Arlen notes in the show’s official description. “Together, under the shared editorial guidance of DC Comics’ Mort Weisinger, both men’s bodies of work constitute what we know of, think of, and see when we hear the name, ‘Superman.'”
