— Two of our fave publishers — IDW and Boom! — did really well, so a tip of the cape to them! Lumberjanes stood tall for Boom! and Little Nemo, Steranko’s SHIELD and Alex Toth books carried the night for IDW.
— Darwyn Cooke‘s variant covers for DC were utterly beautiful and deserved honors.
— Little Nemo won for three different publishers — IDW, Locust Moon and Taschen. Long live Winsor McKay!
— It wasn’t nominated in the category, but Marvel‘s Silver Surfer by Dan Slott and Mike and Laura Allred was the best ongoing I read last year. Just my two cents.
— Gene Luen Yang is a great writer and I’m glad to see him get the Eisner. That was one helluva field of writers. His Superman could be terrific.
— Congratulations to all the winners!
