Controversial cover and all, my favorite Avengers issue is Annual #10. With a big epic story by Chris Claremont featuring an appearance by the X-Men, and an awesome succession of pages, each more brilliant than the last by Michael Golden — this one had it all. A cracking good read, and an absolute swipefest for a wide-eyed young penciler still finding his feet: I eventually bought a back-up copy, my original had gotten so dog-eared.
