One of BATMAN’s Greatest Covers is Now a Groovy Statue

Jim Aparo in 3D…

One of the greatest Batman covers of all time is Limited Collectors’ Edition #C-37, the “Special All-Villain” treasury that was published in 1975:

This is Jim Aparo at his very best.

Anyway, someone at Enesco — purveyor of statuary and other tchotchkes — obviously agrees because coming later this year is this:

What a kick!

The statue, simply titled “Batman 3D Comic Book Figurine,” will be out between August and October, according to Sideshow Collectibles, which is carrying it.

“Sideshow and Enesco present the Batman 3D Comic Book Figurine! Inspired by a classic comic cover, Jim Shore reimagines a DC hero in three-dimensional charm,” reads the official description on the Sideshow website. “Looking over Gotham city, Batman prepares to face off with his foes. With Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, and Two-Face on the prowl, he’ll have a busy night.”

The statue, made from polyresin and stone powder, will stand 8 inches high, 3.88 inches wide and 5.25 inches deep.

  1. Take my money now!

It’s really nice to see some primo Silver Age/Bronze Age collectibles instead of the usual (and redundant) Dark Age offerings

    • As they have masterfully made this 3D cover, they need to do one from The Silver Age when Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson did great Batman art, even Curt Swan and Gil Kane-all masters with zero successors to any of them!
