As often happens, internet rumors sent ripples through the comics world that Hellboy (and the rest of the Mignolaverse) would be shuffling off this mortal coil for real.
Not the case, says Mike Mignola.
Here’s his statement setting the record straight for all you fans:
“Next week brings the conclusion to BPRD: Hell on Earth but there are many more Mignolaverse stories to be told. 2017 is all about opening new and unexpected corners of the Mignolaverse with comics like The Visitor: How and Why He Stayed. Next year, expect new Hellboy and the BPRD stories as well as the Hellboy Into the Silent Sea graphic novel. And there are more Lobster Johnson and Witchfinder stories in the works.
“Some doors close. Others open.”
