MOON KNIGHT #1 to Be Re-Released as Facsimile Edition

Thank you, Oscar Isaac…

Moon Knight’s a-comin’! The show, that is, and Marvel has been focusing a lot on the white-clad avenger of the night.

Well, add this to the pile: the Moon Knight #1 Facsimile Edition, due in May.

Dig the official solicitation released Thursday:

MOON KNIGHT #1 FACSIMILE EDITION

Written by DOUG MOENCH
Penciled by BILL SIENKIEWICZ
Cover by BILL SIENKIEWICZ

Marvel’s most enigmatic hero, in the premiere issue of his first-ever solo title! Mercenary Marc Spector. Millionaire Steven Grant. Cab driver Jake Lockley. Each is a different side of the same man. Together, they become one — to do what they must — as the macabre Moon Knight! But this silver-clad avenger of the night will soon meet his match in the ruthless Bushman — a face from his past, returned to plague him anew! The visionary pairing of writer Doug Moench and artist Bill Sienkiewicz presents the definitive take on Marc Spector’s dynamic origin — and delves deep into the bizarre life of Moon Knight, the Fist of Khonshu! It’s one of the all-time great Marvel comic books, boldly re-presented in its original form, ads and all! Reprinting MOON KNIGHT (1980) #1.

32 PGS./Rated T… $3.99

A few thoughts:

— The issue is due May 11, 2022.

— Moon Knight’s first appearance, in Werewolf by Night #32, is already a Facsimile Edition.

Standard Price Comparison: The original is an expensive book and most copies you find are slabbed. If you’re looking for a solid, unslabbed copy, one recently sold on eBay for $255. The Facsimile Edition — which includes all the ads and so forth — is a penny under four bucks.

  1. Wonder when Marvel will release a facsimile edition of a true classic like Silver Surfer #1

  2. Not to be too cynical, MB, but the answer is when the Silver Surfer gets a Disney+ show or appears in an MCU FF movie. I’m with you though, I would love to see a facsimile edition of Silver Surfer #1!
