HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to this week …

Scott Tipton, co-owner, Blastoff Comics, North Hollywood, Calif.

Harley and Ivy Deluxe Edition, DC. So glad this Paul Dini/Bruce Timm classic is back in print.

STK691180

Justice League of America: The Silver Age Vol. 1 TPB, DC. The original JLA stories from Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky. You can’t beat the real thing.

STK694078

One:12 Collective Judge Dredd action figure, Mezco. There’s never been a really good (authorized) Dredd action figure. That is, till now, it looks like.

STK669665

The Eltingville Club, Dark Horse. Evan Dorkin at his funniest and meanest, reveling in the dark side of geek culture.

STK647941

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

The Flash #48, DC Comics. I’ve been off Flash for awhile and have been waiting for a good time to jump back on. This seems like that time, what with the Rogues getting the focus from writers Robert Venditti and Van Jensen, and the solid Jesus Merino on art.

Red Wolf #3, Marvel. One of these days, I’m going to write a piece about how much I prefer Marvel’s “smaller” titles. Until then, I’m just going to keep recommending Red Wolf by Nathan Edmondson, Dalibor Talajic and Jeffrey Veregge, he of the striking and inventive cover art. (Check out the preview here.)

Archie Jumbo Comics Double Digest #266. Sometimes you just want some old(ish)-school Archie — and to appreciate a comic that is allowed to reach #266.

Badger #1, Devil’s Due/First Comics. Mike Baron brings back his seminal ’80s indie antihero, with art by Jim Fern. Fans of a certain age will want to check this out. So will their teenage kids. (Check out the preview here.)
